CONFIDENT BUYER SAYS STOKE IS ON THE VERGE OF GREAT THINGS
Gareth Fallows, a 27-year-old Skills Consultant, bought his new four bedroom home for just £179,950 at Sadlers Park in Burslem - a new development by Countryside Properties.
Gareth comments: "Research into Burslem showed plans for major regeneration in the near future and plenty of evidence to support my theory that to buy in the area would offer great investment prospects as well as a good quality of life.
"I'm confident my investment will provide me with a high return when Stoke's potential is recognised by a wider audience. It's a city with great potential given the sheer scale of the development plans that are in place."
Like Gareth, many forward thinking investors have recognised the city's prospects. With easy access to the M6, Stoke-on-Trent is located close to major national road networks, three international airports and the UK's second city, Birmingham.
Gareth's job as Head of Skills for Life at Carter and Carter Group, a national provider of vocational learning is located in Nottingham and the role requires him to travel up and down the country, so easy transport links are a must. He states: "The Midlands location of Sadlers Park lends itself well to buyers who are required to travel for their jobs. It is very accessible by both motorway and rail - London Euston is only an hour and half away by train."
Burslem is the largest of the six pottery towns that make up Stoke-on-Trent. With many historical buildings, Burslem's cultural heritage remembers the ceramic pottery industry that once found founded the town. Today, Burslem is set to become an increasingly popular location for residents.
Gareth comments: "I chose Burslem because I draw comparisons with other areas in the country which have already made it. House prices remain below national averages yet are indicating an upward trend. Burslem's cultural heritage as the global catalyst for the world's finest pottery production also lends itself well for future development. In time Burslem will be to Stoke what Didsbury is to Manchester."
Gareth concludes: "Stoke-on-Trent is on the verge of great things. It is just a matter of time."
