GOOD OLD FASHIONED FRUITY FESTIVITIES IN BURSLEM
The Lord Mayor of Stoke got festive and fruity on Monday as the angelic voices of John Baskeyfield Primary School children filled the skies and all were treated to a feast of mince pies…
Singing a variety of popular Christmas carols, the pupils of John Baskeyfield VC C of E Primary entertained the Lord Mayor of Stoke-on-Trent, Cllr Bagh Ali and guests to mark the Christmas light switch on at Countryside Properties' Sadlers Park development on Ironstone Walk in Burslem.
Creating a beautiful and traditional winter wonderland scene, guests were treated to mince pies and refreshments as they gathered round a 21 ft high tree in the boulevard to watch the children perform favourites such as 'Silent Night' and 'Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer'.
Countryside Properties donated £500 to the school as thanks for helping to kick of Christmas at Sadlers Park in good old-fashioned festive style.
Cllr Bagh Ali, said: "It was such a pleasure to be invited here today. This is what Christmas is all about - local children singing carols around a beautiful Christmas tree. I'd like to thank them for such a delightful performance; it was a truly wonderful way to get into the spirit of the festive season."
Andrew Robertson, Countryside Properties' Regional Sales Director, said: "The boulevard at Sadlers Park lends itself to such a picturesque Christmas card setting it seemed a shame not to make the most of it for the local residents. I'd like to thank everyone at John Baskeyfield for putting on such a beautiful performance and to the Lord Mayor of Stoke-on-Trent for helping us to bring Christmas to Sadlers in style."
